The cold months are the best to appreciate the surreal scenarios created by the geothermal phenomena that the Sasso Pisano geothermal park offers.

We will walk in the company of small geysers and natural phenomena linked to the presence of water vapour, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide so abundant in these places, thus giving rise to various natural manifestations such as fumaroles, biancane and solfataras of which we will learn about the main characteristics. A Dantesque scenario made of colours, sounds and smells; the natural background of marvelous scenographies, thanks to the presence of the chemical elements of which these territories are rich. An opportunity for unforgettable photos but also to get to know the technology, developed over time, with the intention of exploiting the great energy found underground.

In fact, there are many geothermal power plants in these areas for the generation of electricity, thanks to the conveyance of this steam.

The departure is scheduled from the medieval village of Sasso Pisano in a wonderful winter trek culminating on the return, for those who wish, with a nice snack c/o the Vapori di Birra structure, the first Craft Brewery in Italy that uses geothermal steam as a source primary energy, for the industrial process ….. do we want to deprive ourselves of it??

The exact meeting place, which will coincide with the start of the activity, will be outdoors and will be communicated exclusively to the participants.

For those who wish, a snack is provided at the end of the excursion at the Birrificio Artigianale Vapori di Birra.

The cost of the snack is NOT included in the participation fee and is to be paid directly on site. Participation in the snack is NOT mandatory.

THE PRICE INCLUDES:
Organization and coordination of activities; assistance with an environmental hiking guide pursuant to LR 86/2016 and subsequent amendments. The Guides are in possession of the civil liability insurance required by law. Participants in the excursions are NOT covered by personal accident insurance.

THE FEE DOES NOT INCLUDE:
Transfer costs, meals and anything else not explicitly mentioned in the program.

Preferably high trekking shoes, backpack, water, any rain gear (waterproof jacket, backpack cover).

We ask all participants to limit the use of disposable material and to bring a glass. In fact we generally offer coffee or other drinks but we have decided not to bring more shot glasses / glasses and spoons.
We do not want to teach anyone anything, but we feel a duty, for those like us who love nature, to try to behave in a more respectful way.

The organizers reserve the right to modify or cancel the excursion in case of risk and / or unforeseen situations for the participants.
